Diabetes is a condition in which the body fails to utilize the ingested glucose properly. Insulin is a hormone that is produced by the pancreatic gland in the abdomen. It controls the use of glucose within the body. When the insulin levels decreases in the body, it causes diabetes. Diabetes can strike anyone, from any walk of life. Diabetes can affect people by two ways. Type 1 diabetes usually develops in children and teenagers. With type 1 diabetes, the body’s immune system attacks part of its own pancreas. The most common form of diabetes is Type 2. It is also known as “adult onset” diabetes, as it develops after age of 35. However, due to changes in lifestyle, a growing number of younger people are also under type 2 diabetes.
