Composition– Levocetrizine 10 mg + Montelukast 5 mg Tablets
The active ingredients used in this formulation are levocetirizine and montelukast. This combination is prescribed to offer the symptomatic relief in allergic symptoms such as sneezing and runny nose.
Mechanism of action: The Levocetirizine exerts its pharmacological action by blocking chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. The montelukast is a leukotriene agonist, works by blocking chemical messenger leukotriene, which leads to the reduction in inflammation of airways and nose and alleviates symptoms of allergies.
Side effects: The common side effects associated with Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Dryness in mouth, Headache, Skin rash, Flu-like symptoms, Fatigue, Sleepiness.
