Description:
Aceclofenac is a potent nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with the marked anti-inflammatory (reduce inflammation) and analgesic (painkilling) property. It is an analogue of Diclofenac and widely preferred for the treatment of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
Paracetamol is an analgesic and antipyretic drug. It is a commonly taken analgesic medicine worldwide.

Paracetamol Uses:

Paracetamol has an analgesic (pain killer) and antipyretic (reduce fever) property. It produces analgesia by blocking chemical messengers in the brain that causes pain and show antipyretic activity by acting on the hypothalamus (a gland present in the brain and is responsible for regulating the body temperature).

Aceclofenac Uses:

Aceclofenac mainly works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes both (COX-1 and COX-2) which promote the secretion of prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are the chemical substances released by the body and promotes inflammation, pain (mild to moderate) and fever.

How to Use Ceknac Plus Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Ceknac Plus Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Aceclofenac and Paracetamol Tablet Works

Ceknac Plus Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Aceclofenac and Paracetamol. These medicines work by blocking the action of chemical messengers responsible for pain, fever and inflammation (redness and swelling).

Side effects of Aceclofenac & Paracetamol tablets:

  • Some common side effects are abdominal pain, diarrhoea, vomiting, nausea, constipation, insomnia, drowsiness and skin rashes.
  • Some severe side effects are gastrointestinal bleeding or ulceration, liver damage, abnormal kidney function, angioedema (severe allergic reaction) and prolonged bleeding after an injury.
  • The severe side effects related to aceclofenac and paracetamol tablets are dependent on dose and duration of therapy (on long term use).

Safety Advice

  • Alcohol: It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Ceknac Plus Tablet.
  • Pregnancy: Ceknac Plus Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
  • Breastfeeding: Information regarding the use of Ceknac Plus Tablet during breastfeeding is not available. Please consult your doctor.
  • Driving: Ceknac Plus Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
  • Kidney: Ceknac Plus Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Ceknac Plus Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
    Use of Ceknac Plus Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.
  • Liver: Ceknac Plus Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Ceknac Plus Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. However, the use of Ceknac Plus Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease and active liver disease.

  • You have been prescribed this combination medicine for relieving pain and inflammation.
  • Take Ceknac Plus Tablet it with food to avoid getting an upset stomach.
  • Do not take Ceknac Plus Tablet with any other medicine containing paracetamol (drugs for pain/fever or cough-and-cold) without asking your doctor first.
  • It may cause dizziness and sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how it affects you.
  • Avoid consuming alcohol when taking Ceknac Plus Tablet as it may cause excessive drowsiness and increase the risk of liver damage.
  • In case of muscle pain, your doctor might advise you to undergo physiotherapy to get relief along with taking Ceknac Plus Tablet.
  • Inform your doctor if you have a history of stomach ulcers before taking this medicine.
